A wedding couple is a conventional name for an iconographic composition of two icons: the Savior and the Blessed Virgin Mary, which are used during the sacrament of marriage for blessing. After the wedding ceremony is over, the young couple place their wedding icons in the red corner of their home.

What do the wedding images mean:

The icon of the Lord Almighty (the groom is blessed) is a symbol of the protector of the family: wife and children. Taking care of them is his holy duty. According to the Gospel, a wife is treated as a fragile vessel: she is loved, cherished and respected. A father wisely raises his children: somewhere he uses strictness, somewhere he uses gentleness. The image of the Virgin of Kazan (blessing to the bride) – calls for the care of her husband and children. Spouse – the keeper of the hearth and helper to everyone and everything. A virtuous wife is a gift of God. The spouse is the head of the family. A wise companion, being humble, will extract the “precious myrrh” in any situation.

On the wedding or wedding day, the most appropriate gift will be the images of the Saint and the Mother of God.
